Revolutionary platform connects gender-based crime survivors with journalists, researchers, legislators, and documentarians while prioritizing safety and survivor control

RALEIGH, NC – July 17, 2025 – Not Just One, LLC, a North Carolina-based platform designed by crime survivors for crime survivors, today announced the official opening of its secure online platform to Survivor members. The groundbreaking service connects gender-based crime survivors with verified professionals who can amplify their voices through journalism, research, legislation, documentary filmmaking, and other investigative storytelling work.

“We’re transforming individual stories into collective impact,” said Kimberly Toms, CEO of Not Just One. “Our platform empowers survivors to reclaim their narrative in a secure, controlled environment where their well-being is our highest priority. Every survivor deserves to have their story heard—safely, securely, and on their own terms.”

The platform operates on a unique model where survivors can share their experiences using pseudonyms while maintaining complete control over who sees their story and how it’s used. This approach addresses a critical gap in connecting authentic survivor voices with professionals who have the power to investigate, research, report, and drive systemic change.

Nikolay Peychev, COO of Not Just One, emphasized the platform’s global vision: “We’ve built Not Just One from the ground up with security, privacy, and ethical considerations at its core. Our comprehensive ethical framework places survivor well-being at the center of every decision, supported by an advisory board of victim advocates, security specialists, legal experts, and ethics professionals.”

Key Features of Not Just One:

  • Secure Environment: Protected space for survivors to share experiences with verified professionals
  • Survivor Control: Complete autonomy over story sharing and usage
  • Pseudonym Protection: Ability to maintain anonymity while telling their story
  • Verified Professionals: Rigorous credential verification system for journalists, researchers, law enforcement, legislators, and documentary filmmakers
  • Always Free for Survivors: Platform operates on paid subscription model for professionals while remaining free for survivors

The platform addresses critical needs in both survivor advocacy and professional storytelling. For survivors, it provides a pathway to justice, pattern identification, and systemic change. For professionals, it offers access to authentic first-hand accounts that can help reopen cases, identify patterns across similar crimes, inform research, and drive policy reform.

“Your story deserves to be heard, and beyond the personal empowerment speaking out provides, sharing your story safely can lead to real change,” added Toms. “We’re creating opportunities for untold stories to reach those with the power to investigate, inform and potentially drive justice.”

Not Just One’s development reflects a survivor-centered approach to addressing gender-based crimes and their aftermath. The platform’s ethical framework and security measures were developed with input from victim advocates and security specialists to ensure survivor safety remains paramount.
